- No admission into competition area before 12.10pm.
- All gymnasts will be be given a few turns to warm up prior to competing: they should use each of these turns to perform their routine once before allowing the next gymnast to do the same.
- Medal ceremonies will take place after each flight is completed.

COMPETITION TIME!

Announcing the 3rd SuperSonic Open!

COMPETITION REGISTRATION: *CLICK HERE*

We’re delighted to announce that our next competition in SuperSonic will be on Sunday December 11th. This will be our biggest and best competition yet, and is open to everyone in the club, with the exception of very young, Junior-level bouncers (4-5 year olds) who would not yet be suited to competing just yet. We would ask that if you have doubts, ask in class or email, as many times people presume their child is too young, yet they are well able to perform a competition routine for their level.

The competition will break down into categories for every age group and ability level, from pre-novice to national levels. Coaches will know what level to enter your child at, so all you need to do is sign up in class or on our simple online form linked above.

A running order will be release in the week before the event so you will know your event and time. We expect the full day to run from 10 – 4pm approx, but you will only need to attend your own event.

We will be inviting along trampolinists from our great friends in Rathdrum Gymnastics Club, and a few other select clubs so the atmosphere will be fun, and the competition busy, lively and energetic. There will be Competitive and Sport breakdowns in results, for those with plenty of competitive experience or at that standard, and those that have little or none. This will ensure that competition groupings are fair and even, and give everyone the chance of placing.

Details:
Where: SuperSonic TC – Loughlinstown Leisure Centre
When: Sunday 11th December (See running order released closer to event for times of individual events).
Cost: €5 per entrant

These gorgeous National Finals medals are the top medal in Irish trampolining, but ours will be brilliant, and have cookie counterparts as well (if we can convince Coach Aisling to bake up a batch)!

Medals and certificates will be awarded to winners, and these ceremonies will take place shortly after each event as much as is possible, to keep waiting times to a minimum for everyone.

It should prove an excellent day for everyone, with the chance to show some of what everyone has been working on, and introduce many of our bouncers to competition at the same time. We really hope to see you all there!

END OF TERM 1 & NEW TERM DETAILS

Hi everyone,

Firstly, thank you from all of us in SuperSonic for being a part of the club up to now. This term has been very different to those before and has seen much change, even from week to week at times, as we fully integrate our floor gymnastics elements into our class structure. However, we are beginning to see the physical and mental developments we are aiming for coming through at a quicker rate now as our bouncers are exposed to new important gymnastics actions, get stronger, and importantly, are busier and more engaged in each class. Very recently we adapted most of our classes to the more traditional single trampoline coach rather than two per session, to improve the direct attention each of our members gets, and this compares amazingly well in relation to last year’s levels:

Last year: Coach to Student Ratio: 1:5 max – Only trampoline
This year: Coach to Student Ratio: 1:4 max – Trampoline AND Dedicated Floor Sessions

This is a huge net increase, and one we are very happy to have finally achieved in SuperSonic. With this long term goal in place, our next will be the sourcing of another 2 trampolines, to allow even more training time within each session. If anyone has won the lottery recently, please get in touch.

Gradings for everyone and the 3rd SuperSonic Open competition (Sunday Dec 11th) are scheduled over the next 3 weeks, so keep up the hard work in training everyone!

TERM 1 WILL FINISH ON FRIDAY DECEMBER 2ND. TERM 2 BEGINS STRAIGHT AWAY THE FOLLOWING WEEK WITH CLASSES CONTINUING AS NORMAL. THERE IS NO BREAK BETWEEN.

PLEASE NOTE: If you are not continuing with us, please fill out THIS FORM as we will continue to hold you place otherwise.

TERM 2 DATES FOR YOUR DIARY:
Begins: December 5th
Christmas Holidays: December 17th – Jan 8th
Mid term: Feb 11th – 26th
Concludes: March 23rd

Duration: 11 weeks (Longer than term 1 due to yearly adjustments)
Monday March 19th is a bank holiday, so Monday classes are one week less in duration, and are adjusted in price accordingly.

Term Fee: €119
Monday Classes: €109

Remember our discounts:
€20 off each family member beyond the second
€20 off every class attended beyond the first

- Fees should be paid in class before the start of term 2. That means this week or next please!

See you all on the trampolines!
- Darron & Pauric

Website Updates

Whats going on around here? Everything looks different!!

Dont worry, all the info is still here, we’ve just renovated and cleaned up the site. We’ve also added some nice new content, like our live Facebook stream on the right hand side there, some new links up at the top, and some new content, such as in our gallery (under the Media link above). Also a nifty Follow button also on the right, allowing you to automatically be kept up to date on further news by email.

We still have some more updates to come tomorrow, along with information on the new term, gradings, the Christmas competition, and videos of the routines from our guys at Irish National Finals in Cork last weekend. Stay tuned!

MIDTERM UPDATE

Hello everyone,

We hope you are all enjoying Halloween. Those of you with holidays this time of year certainly are we presume, while those of you without… well, you and/or your children will be back in bouncing next week, so hang in there!

As it is the midterm break, it seems a perfect time to send out an update and round up of the goings on within SuperSonic at present.

Important dates:
This term is only a 10 week term as you all know, and with 6 weeks down, we are only 4 away from finishing up for the term. As such, the last classes of term will be on the week of Nov 28th – Dec 2nd. This is slightly earlier than last year, though we intend to host a competition the weekend after (details to follow).

Class structure:
This term has seen the introduction of our floor equipment and a revision in class design to accommodate. For those that are not familiar with how things work during a session, here is the basic premise:
3 sections of learning, 20 minutes devoted to each
1 – Trampoline Skills: Time devoted to learning new moves, new combinations and progressing individual skills
2 – Trampoline Drills: Time devoted to developing routines and linked skills. Focus is on pre-exisiting moves being drilled to perfection, and practicing towards creating competition grade routines.
3 – Floor Gymnastics: Time devoted to a range of skills, conditioning and drills using our top quality floor gymnastics equipment. You will only see equipment that fits in with the rebound nature of trampolining, as the goal here is to develop the strength, power and speed required for the more demanding actions in trampolining.

As this is a very different approach to previous terms, there has been some adaptation required by us all in the club. We are continuing to monitor how things are developing for our gymnasts, so dont be surprised if we make slight changes to classes occasionally. The goal as always is continual improvement.

Gradings & Competition:
We will be grading everyone in class before the end of term. Slight tweeks have been made to the system in line with the new setup, but overall these will be as before, with our SuperSonic Bands being awarded based on ability and testing.

Our intention is to hold a Christmas competition in December in the weekend following the end of term. Full details will go out in advance of this, but expect it to be on a Sunday morning/early afternoon. Hopefully everyone will compete, and hopefully it will be another day to remember, with gymnasts from outside clubs coming along to take part alongside our own. Focus in the coming weeks will be on routine training for this event.

For anyone nervous about competing, don’t worry, the emphasis will be on taking part, with levels for all abilities, and every effort will be made to keep the pressure off and the enjoyment high!

Adults Classes:
The new setup has been received with differing views; some love it, some prefer our old system. We have taken these views into account and will be monitoring and subtly adapting classes where necessary. Our goal is that you love what you do in SuperSonic, and both feel and see the improvements you are making.

As always, if you have any comments or suggestions, please feel free to let us know!

Looking forward to seeing you all back with us soon,
Darron

HALLOWEEN BREAK!

THERE WILL BE NO CLASS NEXT WEEK (MONDAY OCT 31ST – FRIDAY NOV 4TH). CLASSES WILL RESUME AS NORMAL THE FOLLOWING MONDAY (NOV 7TH).

Have a great halloween everyone!

Term Update

So its been a little while since our last news update, more due to how busy we are and the all the news we have rather than a lack of it!

We will have a detailed update on how term in proceeding going out to our members as soon as possible, but in the meantime, the brief lowdown:

Things are proceeding well with our new class layouts and structures. Expected teething issues are being worked out one at a time and we are happy with people’s reactions so far. Still to feel the full upgraded treatment will be our squad and competitive structure.

We are working on a Christmas competition for everyone. More news on this after Halloween, as it develops.

Halloween Break will be October 31st – November 4th. No class this week.

There is some space available in certain classes during the week. As always we welcome new members at any time in the term provided we do have any space, so take advantage and get in touch!

So just a quick synopsis of recent activity. Expect a full news update in your inboxes and on the site soon!

Less than a week to go!

The 19th of September, our first day back, is looming close! Only 6 days left until classes begin in Loughlinstown for SuperSonic this term and we can’t wait. Our new equipment is enroute and on schedule to be delivered this coming weekend, so we will barely have a chance to unpack it before we have it up and running for classes!

The new equipment has allowed us to a larger capacity in each class, so places are still available for those thinking of booking, but do get in quick, once the classes fill, they will be tied up for the full term and even the year. To book just click on the link at the top of the page.

We’re hoping to really get trampolining and SuperSonic on the map this year with great classes, big competitions, and exciting new directions for the club to expand in. To do that we need to spread the word, so don’t be afraid to tell your family, friends and schoolmates about us, as word of mouth is the best advertisement!
